We are working on creating a forest of 10,000 trees. The site for this exciting project is a 7-acre piece of land on the banks of the river Ganga about 10 kilometres south of the city of Varanasi.

The vision is to create an ecological educational centre which is a ‘forest-farm’, with a combination of local trees, grafted fruit and nut trees, and perennial food crops. There will be riverside pavillions, walks, clearings, and lots to discover in every corner. The feel should be partly forest and partly garden.

Planting began in summer 2021, with 2000 trees, and is continuing until we reach approximately 10,000. We plant a combination of trees bought from nurseries, raised ourselves through seed, and gifts of saplings and cuttings.
